Ismail Haniyeh, who was in Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, lost his life as a result of an attack on the residence of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps where he was staying.
Following Haniyeh's death, the question of where he will be buried has become a subject of curiosity.
It is not yet known where Haniyeh, who was born in the Gaza Strip of Palestine on January 29, 1962, will be buried.
The US Department of State designated Hamas as a terrorist organization in 2018 and also designated Haniyeh as a terrorist.
Following his designation as a "terrorist," Haniyeh went to Qatar, where Hamas's diplomatic headquarters is located and where negotiations with Israel are occasionally conducted, and began living there.
HE WILL BE BURIED IN DOHA
The details of the funeral ceremony for Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh have been announced. Haniyeh's funeral will be held in Doha, the capital of Qatar, following a ceremony to be held in Iran. No official statement has yet been made regarding the date and time of the ceremony.
