It is not yet known where Haniyeh, who was born in the Gaza Strip of Palestine on January 29, 1962, will be buried.
The US Department of State designated Hamas as a terrorist organization in 2018 and also designated Haniyeh as a terrorist.
Following his designation as a "terrorist," Haniyeh went to Qatar, where Hamas's diplomatic headquarters is located and where negotiations with Israel are occasionally conducted, and began living there.
