WHO announces: Nasser Hospital in Gaza is no longer functional

World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated in a post on the social media platform X that a WHO team and its partners reached the hospital compound yesterday and the day before to deliver fuel, but were not permitted to enter the hospital to assess the condition of patients and their critical medical needs.

"Nasser Hospital is no longer functional following the raid and the week-long siege," Ghebreyesus said, emphasizing that there are still nearly 200 patients in the hospital and at least 20 of them need to be urgently transferred to other hospitals to receive medical care.

Ghebreyesus stressed that patients would pay with their lives for any delays in transfer, underscoring that access to patients and the hospital must be facilitated.
