WHO IS ARİF KOCABIYIK?

Arif Kocabıyık was born in 1983 in the Elmalı district of Antalya. A vocational high school graduate, Kocabıyık previously worked as a wedding photographer. Later, he began working as a security guard at Akdeniz University and took his first step into publishing with a local newspaper he founded called Divan. Although this project was not successful, he took a new step in March 2018 by founding the YouTube channel İlave TV with his brother-in-law, Turan Kural.

The İlave TV channel had reached 11 thousand subscribers by May 2018. As the channel gained popularity, Kocabıyık and the channel's cameraman toured Turkey, increasing the number of subscribers to 90 thousand in the first months of 2019. As of July 2023, the channel had 743 thousand subscribers. Arif Kocabıyık also wrote a book titled "Courage is Contagious" (Cesaret Bulaşıcıdır), which describes his broadcasting process.

On March 18, 2023, Kocabıyık announced his candidacy for Antalya MP from the İYİ Party, and on April 9, 2023, he was nominated as the 12th-place Antalya MP candidate, but he was not elected.
