Following this development, the Ministry of Interior decided to appoint a trustee to the Şişli Municipality. The Ministry announced that Şişli District Governor Cevdet Ertürkmen has been "appointed as the Acting Mayor of Şişli."

WHO IS CEVDET ERTÜRKMEN?
District Governor Cevdet Ertürkmen was born in 1970 in Kahramanmaraş. He completed his primary education in Kahramanmaraş, and his secondary and high school education in Kahramanmaraş and Eskişehir. In 1992, he graduated from the Department of Public Administration at the Faculty of Political Sciences of Istanbul University. Later, he completed his master's degree in Political Science and Public Administration at the Institute of Social Sciences of Ankara University. Ertürkmen, who prepared his master's thesis on the subject of "Disaster Management," has held various positions in the field of public administration. He has come to the fore with his appointment as a trustee to the Şişli Municipality by the Ministry of Interior.
WHERE HAS CEVDET ERTÜRKMEN SERVED?
He began his career in the Civil Administration in 1999 as a District Governor candidate in Gaziantep. He served as District Governor in Ağlasun, Burdur, and Saray, Van, respectively. He served as Deputy Governor of Şanlıurfa, District Governor of Yeşilhisar in Kayseri, District Governor of Sultanhisar in Aydın, District Governor of Beşikdüzü in Trabzon, and District Governor of Bafra in Samsun. He has been serving as the District Governor of Şişli since July 29, 2024.
