WHO IS FİKRET ÖZTÜRK?

Fikret Öztürk was born in 1949 in the Nizip district of Gaziantep. After completing his primary education in Nizip, he enrolled in a boarding teacher training school.

Graduating from the Istanbul Çapa Higher Teacher Training School, Öztürk began working as a physics teacher. He later served in schools such as the Gaziantep Education Institute, İslahiye High School, and Mersin Tevfik Sırrı Gür High School.

Öztürk, who was removed from his teaching position for two years during the September 12, 1980 coup, did not return to teaching after this period and resigned from his teaching post in 1982.

Taking his first steps into business life by working as a tractor dealer with his uncle Mehmet Öztürk, Fikret Öztürk founded Öztürkler Petrol Limited Company in 1982, which operated in the fuel distribution and mineral oil sector. The company achieved great success over time.

In 1992, he solidified his place in the sector by founding Opet Petrolcülük AŞ, one of Turkey's domestic fuel distribution companies. Opet accelerated its growth process by forming a partnership with Koç Holding in 2002.
