WHO IS SELAMİ YILDIZ?
Selami Yıldız was born in Istanbul in 1968. He graduated from the Ankara Police College in 1986 and the Police Academy in 1990. After graduating from the Ankara Police College in 1986, he completed his studies at the Police Academy in 1990 and joined the police force. Yıldız served as a Security Attaché at the Portuguese Embassy between 1998 and 2000, gaining significant experience in the field of international security during this time.

Yıldız, who earned the title of 1st Class Police Chief in 2014, was appointed as the Adana Provincial Police Chief in 2017, where he carried out successful operations. In 2023, he was appointed as the Deputy General Director of Security.
Selami Yıldız's takeover of Istanbul's security management will most likely be published in the Official Gazette with the approval of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
