WHO IS KADİR CANPOLAT?

Born in 1980 in the Horasan district of Erzurum, Kadir Canpolat completed his primary and secondary education in Erzurum. Due to the coefficient barrier applied to graduates of imam hatip high schools during his education, he chose the Music Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts for university. He completed his military service in the morale team at the Selimiye Barracks and received a certificate of appreciation.

Having been introduced to the Ülkü Ocakları, Alperen Ocakları, and the Milli Görüş movement at a young age, Canpolat launched a magazine called "Osmanlı Ocakları" in 2005 and subsequently established an organization by the same name. This entity reached a wide audience by organizing both domestically and abroad.

Canpolat graduated from the Atılım University Faculty of Law. He was also known for his identity as a poet, songwriter, and musician. Having authored the book titled "Zincire Vurulmuş Altı Asırlık Yiğit" (The Six-Century-Old Hero in Chains), Canpolat had a particular interest in the works of Aşık Veysel and Neşet Ertaş.

Interested in many sports ranging from parachuting to boxing, and skiing to archery, Canpolat spoke Arabic, English, and Russian. He was married and a father of four. His wife, Ebru Canpolat, served as the Chairwoman of the Ottoman Hearths Women's Branch.

WHY DID HE DIE?

In the Çayırdüzü neighborhood of Erzurum's Horasan district, an argument between the Chairman of the Ottoman Hearths and the Ocak Party, Kadir Canpolat, and his older brother, M. Canpolat, escalated into an armed confrontation. According to allegations, Kadir Canpolat, who was shot by his brother, could not be saved despite all interventions at the hospital to which he was taken. Following the incident, M. Canpolat was taken into custody by the gendarmerie, while this tragedy caused deep sorrow in the region.
