The incident occurred following an argument that began when Özden kicked the door of a disabled restroom. When cleaning staff member Amaç warned Özden, tensions between the two escalated. Forty-five minutes later, as Amaç was leaving, he was attacked by Özden and beaten for minutes inside the mosque.
In the attack, Osman Amaç's jaw was broken and he suffered partial facial paralysis. Following the incident, Amaç was taken to the hospital and filed a complaint. The moment of the fight was captured on the mosque's security cameras. The investigation launched into Özden is ongoing.
