Burhan claimed that Özgür Özel, who left the CHP to found the New Party, had left certain Party Assembly (PM) members such as Selin Sayek Böke and Gül Çiftçi in the party as a precaution against a possible reversal by the Court of Cassation, and that these individuals were planned to play a role in a leadership scenario; he further suggested that the Kılıçdaroğlu camp might expel these individuals.

"A very important development may occur this week. There were Party Assembly (PM) members that Mr. Özgür Özel and his team left within the CHP. These PM members were left there as a precaution against a possible reversal decision by the Court of Cassation.
They were names like Selin Sayek Böke and Gül Çiftçi. They left these names there specifically so that they would not be caught unprepared within the CHP if the Court of Cassation overturns the decision."
