Journalist Sinan Burhan, who is close to the government, claimed that if the Court of Cassation overturns the absolute nullity decision, the new leader of the CHP would be Selin Sayek Böke.

Burhan used the following expressions in his statement:
"A very important development may occur this week. There were Party Assembly (PM) members that Mr. Özgür Özel and his team left within the CHP. These PM members were left there as a precaution against a possible reversal decision by the Court of Cassation.
They were names like Selin Sayek Böke and Gül Çiftçi. They left these names there specifically so that they would not be caught unprepared within the CHP if the Court of Cassation overturns the decision."
