'Why didn't you send the AA's Gaza photos earlier?'

Turkey has taken action to play an active role in the genocide case filed against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The Justice Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) will submit its intervention petition to the International Court of Justice in The Hague today. The petition will be delivered to the ICJ.

Akif Beki, a former advisor to AKP Chairman and President Tayyip Erdoğan, highlighted an interesting detail in his column in Karar newspaper and asked, 'Why not sooner?'

Challenging Erdoğan's rhetoric that "there is no country that reacts more harshly to the massacres in Gaza than we do," Beki asked, "While Turkey, the leader of the Ummah, was there, was it up to South Africa to start the trial of Israel at the International Court of Justice?"

Beki pointed out that it was a major mistake for Ankara, which had long been saying "our preparations are ongoing" regarding the diplomacy to put Israel on trial, not to send the massacre photos taken in Gaza by the state's official agency, Anadolu Agency (AA), to be included in the files of South Africa and Amnesty International, who initiated the trial with their initial applications.

Beki predicted, with a touch of sarcasm, that the government, which "willingly lost the title of being the one who initiated the trial" by not making this move, would put on a political show following today's application in The Hague: "Just wait until they officially intervene in the case, then you'll see what all the fuss is about... Let's see who is stronger; just watch the government now..."
