Why were İSPARK parking lots closed? Statement from IMM
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has announced that certain İSPARK parking lots will be out of service for a period of time and has shared the reason for this situation with the public.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) police teams have suspended the operations of 36 parking lots managed by İSPARK, closing them temporarily.
WHY WERE İSPARK PARKING LOTS CLOSED?
According to the statement made by the IMM, fire safety screening studies were conducted on municipal properties in accordance with the Istanbul Governor's Office letter dated February 25, 2025, and numbered 841503, titled 'Fire Precautions'.
'THEY HAVE BEEN TEMPORARILY CLOSED TO SERVICE'
The statement included the following: 'On the other hand, earthquake safety screenings of properties owned by the IMM, which were initiated by acting quickly following the Silivri earthquake that occurred on April 23, 2025, are continuing. As a result of the initial screenings, some İSPARK parking lots have been temporarily closed to service as part of safety measures. Once the necessary precautions are taken, the parking lots in question will be gradually reopened for service.'
