Wife of businessman arrested in IMM investigation detained while he was heading to testify: Statement from CHP's Emir

The wife of businessman Murat Kapki, who is currently in custody as part of the investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), has been detained.

CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir stated in a social media post, "Is it an attempt to force a confession by detaining the wife of Murat Kapki, who is currently in custody in the IMM investigation, at the very moment you are taking him to the prosecutor's office?"

Recalling Fatih Keleş, one of the detainees whom pro-government media claimed had "become a confessor," Emir said, "After the lie that he 'became a confessor' was spread and it was revealed that this was not true, is arresting Fatih Keleş's son and nephew not an insult to the values of this nation?"

"While 2025 has been declared the 'Year of the Family,' what does it mean to attack the sanctity of the family and target people's spouses and children?
