Will İrfan Değirmenci return to Halk TV? He spoke about his future

Journalist İrfan Değirmenci, who ran as the Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) candidate in the Çankaya Mayoral elections and lost to CHP candidate Hüseyin Can Güner, announced via social media that he would not return to Halk TV because he was not featured on the channel during the election process. Değirmenci congratulated Güner, who won the election, and announced that he would continue his political career under the TİP banner.

It was reported that Değirmenci stated he received 26,586 votes in 80% of the ballot boxes opened in Çankaya, making TİP the third-largest party in the district, and noted that his party is also in office in Samandağ and Hacıbektaş with the votes of the people. He also announced that while they received 5.40% of the vote in the general elections in the second district of İzmir, this rate rose to 5.92% in Çankaya. Değirmenci expressed his vision for a Turkey where hunger and poverty are ended, and where vegan festivals and LGBTI+ politicians are not frowned upon, and congratulated the Republican People's Party on its election victory.

"OF COURSE I WILL NOT RETURN"

Değirmenci made the following statement regarding the election results on his official X account:

"Many thanks to my 26,586 neighbors who trusted and voted for us in the 80% of ballot boxes opened in Çankaya. With this result, TİP has become the 3rd party in Çankaya, the administrative heart of the Republic. Our party is also in office in Samandağ and Hacıbektaş with the votes of our people. Long live all my comrades who worked day and night with limited resources. For those wondering:

Of course, I will not return to Halk TV, which did not feature me on its screen even once during the election process!

In the general election, we received 5.40% of the vote in the second district of İzmir. In Çankaya, this rate became 5.92%. I will continue in politics in the ranks of TİP on behalf of all segments of society that are being marginalized. Long live the Workers' Party of Turkey, Long live Socialism.

One day, hunger will surely be eradicated in this country, and so will poverty... And holding a 'vegan festival' will not be frowned upon; nor will an openly LGBTI politician... On this occasion, I congratulate the Republican People's Party on its undisputed election victory. The Palace will have a sleepless night tonight. Finally, Hüseyin Can Güner, I congratulate you as well. We will see each other more often"
