Following the power outage that struck parts of Spain, Portugal, and France the other day, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar made a statement. Minister Bayraktar announced that there is no issue that would lead to a general blackout in Turkey's electricity transmission and distribution lines.

WHAT HAPPENED IN EUROPE

On Monday, some regions of Europe were affected by power outages that lasted for hours. While electricity was completely cut off in cities with millions of inhabitants such as Madrid, Barcelona, and Lisbon, flights could not be operated, hospitals faced difficult moments, and traffic was paralyzed. The governments of Spain and Portugal declared a state of emergency to prevent security problems that might occur during the power outage. While the cause of the outage could not be determined, authorities called on citizens to comply with emergency measures. It was reported that 7 people lost their lives following the power outages.

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar had made a statement on Monday regarding the situation in Turkey, saying, "Currently, Turkey has not been affected by this trouble. But it is a trouble of a scale that could affect us. Because we are also connected to Europe's system."
