Will the CHP's bylaws congress turn into an elective congress? Figures close to Kılıçdaroğlu speak out
Figures close to former chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu have spoken out regarding claims that the CHP's bylaws congress, scheduled for September, will turn into an elective congress.
The Republican People's Party (CHP) will hold a bylaws congress between September 4-9.
It had been alleged that former chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and party members close to him were making preparations to turn the CHP's bylaws congress into an elective congress.
Figures close to Kılıçdaroğlu denied the claim in question. According to a report in Gazete Duvar, one party member said, “There is no such initiative or such a thought. The new party leadership has a certain amount of credit. This credit has not run out. What falls to us in this process is to warn about issues we see as lacking or wrong. This is a requirement of our party identity. However, untrue claims are constantly being brought to the agenda through certain channels. The only goal here could be to discredit Kılıçdaroğlu. This is not a correct attitude.”
