Work accident at TTK-owned coal mine
A worker lost his life after being crushed between a coal wagon and a tipper at a mine owned by the Turkish Hard Coal Authority (TTK) in Zonguldak.
In an incident that occurred around 22:00 at the mine belonging to the TTK Karadon Enterprise Directorate, 44-year-old miner Baykul Sağlam suffered a work accident at the minus 360 level.
During the coal dumping process, he was crushed between a 5-ton wagon and the tipper (a system used to rotate and empty the wagon in place).
Baykul Sağlam, who received initial intervention from his colleagues, was taken to Zonguldak Atatürk State Hospital by medical teams arriving at the scene.

COULD NOT BE SAVED DESPITE INTERVENTIONS
Miner Sağlam, a father of two who was seen receiving CPR, could not be saved despite all interventions by doctors.
TTK General Manager Muharrem Kiraz, Deputy General Manager Fazlı Uncu, and GMİS General President Hakan Yeşil arrived at the hospital to receive information.
Relatives of the worker, who reportedly began working at the mine in 2009, suffered nervous breakdowns in the hospital courtyard upon receiving the tragic news.
