World-famous figures release joint message for Palestine

As the British capital London hosted the largest charity concert held to date for Gaza this evening, many world-famous figures released a joint video message prior to the "Together for Palestine" concert, calling for a ceasefire and an end to the massacre in Palestine.

American pop star Billie Eilish, Cillian Murphy, who gained international fame for his roles in the series Peaky Blinders and the film Oppenheimer, Joaquin Phoenix, known for his Joker character, Oscar-winning Spanish actors Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, legendary names of the music world Peter Gabriel and Paul Weller, and Nobel Prize-winning activist Malala Yousafzai were among the famous names featured in the video.

In the video, young star Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas used the phrase "Together for Palestine." Scottish actor Brian Cox said in his message in the video, "We have to speak the truth on behalf of the people of Palestine," while American photographer and activist Nan Goldin stated, "The role of the artist has always been to speak the truth and take the risk of speaking truth to power."

Children's literature author Michael Wayne Rosen said, "We know that the leaders of this country are complicit in the mass slaughter of civilians in Gaza and the West Bank."

British comedian, actor, film producer, and director Steve Coogan said, "It is important to speak now, not after it's all over. Right now, while it's happening. Pressure your government, call for a ceasefire, stop the killing."

The names featured in the video, in order of appearance, were: Cillian Murphy, Joaquin Phoenix, Natasha Rothwell, Michael Wayne Rosen, Sharon Horgan, Steve Coogan, Penélope Cruz, Benedict Wong, India Amarteifio, Annie Mac, Nan Goldin, Peter Gabriel, Javier Bardem, Billie Eilish, Finneas, Denise Gough, Ben Howard, Harriet Walter, Rupi Kaur, Max Porter, Caitrona Balfe, Chris O’Dowd, Brian Cox, Dawn O’Porter, Malala Yousafzai, Indya Moore, Nikita Gill, Luis Tosar, Residente, Carlos Bardem, Tamar Novas, and Tahar Rahim.

It was announced that the proceeds from the "Together for Palestine" concert will be donated to Palestinian humanitarian aid organizations.
