Istanbul is the 23rd best city in the world

International research firm Euromonitor has shared the best cities of 2023. In the list, Paris has taken the top spot for the third time.

The report stated that international travel experienced a strong recovery in 2023, with a 38 percent growth in the number of trips.

While Paris once again maintained the top spot in the world's top 100 cities ranking prepared by Euromonitor International for 2023, Istanbul, Antalya, and Muğla from Turkey also appeared on the list. In the list created by the research firm Euromonitor International based on criteria such as tourism performance, tourism infrastructure, tourism policy and attractiveness, health, safety, and sustainability, three cities from Turkey were included. Istanbul became the world's most popular foreign destination with 20.2 million international arrivals, entering the top 20 with a 26 percent increase compared to 2022. Istanbul ranked 23rd, Antalya 57th, and Muğla 93rd. Dubai, Madrid, and Tokyo followed immediately after Paris. While Europe dominated a large portion of the list, Los Angeles was the only US city other than New York to place in the top 20. According to Euromonitor International's data, it is observed that international travel experienced a strong recovery in 2023 and a 38 percent growth occurred in the number of trips.
