The university issued a written statement regarding certain claims made by İmamoğlu during the July 6 hearing of his "chain forgery of official documents" case.
The statement included the following remarks:
"As reported in some media outlets, former Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu made false statements regarding a phone conversation between himself and our Rector, Prof. Dr. Osman Bülent Zülfikar, during the hearing held on July 6 concerning his 'chain forgery of official documents' case.
He similarly distorted the speech delivered by our Rector at the graduation ceremony of our university's Faculty of Dentistry in order to create a political agenda.
