WHO IS YAHYA SINWAR?
Born in 1962, Sinwar is the leader of Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Sinwar was born in 1962.
He is the founder of Al-Majd, the Hamas security apparatus that manages internal security matters and investigates Israeli agents. After being arrested for the third time in 1988, he was sentenced to four life terms in prison. However, he was among the 1,027 prisoners released in exchange for an Israeli soldier held captive by Hamas.
Since that day, he has continued to rise within Hamas.
In 2015, the US included Sinwar on its "international terrorists" blacklist.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh was martyred as a result of a cowardly assassination carried out by genocidal Israel at his residence in Tehran.
