Yarkadaş's curious reaction to artists' ultimatum to Kılıçdaroğlu: Who are you forbidding from using whose songs?
While Kılıçdaroğlu, who returned to the CHP chairmanship seat with a 'void ab initio' (mutlak butlan) decision, is being criticized by many segments, many singers whose songs were used at CHP rallies have also requested that their works not be used to show their reaction to Kılıçdaroğlu. A curious reaction to this decision came from journalist Yarkadaş.
While the tension that began in the CHP following the 'void ab initio' decision continues, a flash move has come from famous artists. Names such as Suavi, Zülfü Livaneli, and Onur Akın have imposed a ban on Kılıçdaroğlu.
In a statement made on his social media account, Suavi used the expression, "Dear friends... I would like to share that I do not want any of my works that belong to me and/or that I am the performer of to be used in any environment by those who came to office with a VOID (BUTLAN) decision and those who are on their side... and that I will be a follower of the process against possible unauthorized uses. Respectfully."
SUCCESSIVE STATEMENTS CAME
Zülfü Livaneli also announced that he has banned Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was reinstated as CHP chairman by a court decision, from using his songs.
Akbayram's song had also been used at Kılıçdaroğlu's event at the CHP Headquarters. The family of Edip Akbayram, who passed away last year, also banned Kılıçdaroğlu from using his songs. In the statement made by the Akbayram family, they said, "We declare that we do not permit the works performed by Edip Akbayram to be used in political events by individuals, groups, and organizations seen in the public eye as representatives or supporters of the 'void ab initio' process, and we present this to the public's information."
CURIOUS REACTION FROM BARIŞ YARKADAŞ
While artists continue to show their reactions one after another, a curious comment came from journalist Barış Yarkadaş. Using expressions that disregard the decisions of the copyright holders, Yarkadaş said, "Who are you forbidding from using whose songs?"
Yarkadaş used the following expressions:
"Zülfü Livaneli and Suavi are making statements saying 'I will not let my songs be used.' I understand Zülfü Livaneli, but I have not heard any of Suavi's tracks being played at these rallies. May God have mercy on his soul, they also dragged the late Edip Abi's family into this business. Can such a thing happen? You allow people accused of corruption and theft to use songs, but you do not allow people who say 'let there be no corruption in our party, let our party's name not be mentioned with such things' to use these songs. This is the misery of our Turkish intellectuals, the pit they have fallen into. Who are you forbidding from using whose songs, by what right are you forbidding it!"
