Ağıralioğlu gave a striking response to a journalist's question regarding the water outages occurring in Ankara.

"I would like to answer this question not specifically, but generally,” said Ağıralioğlu, expressing his reaction to Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş.

Ağıralioğlu used the following expressions:

“We are the opposition, sir. Sometimes you ask the government, what is this, what is that? You ask questions. They say, it existed before us. We tell them, if you have been in power for 23 years...

I am referring to all opposition municipalities, including Mayor Mansur, and all politicians in the opposition. I am including myself as well. If we are going to present excuses, power is the power of excuses. There is no need to prolong it. One must show the will to find solutions.

Don't say it started before me. It existed before me. You will plan it. You will plan the traffic. You will plan the water. You will create action plans for all of these so that what you represent will be this: It existed before him. It ended with him. It had started before him. He planned it. It was very heavy before him. This burden has decreased.

Now, if one cannot show skill there, the opposition cannot walk toward the nation's hope against the government.
