Yellow alert for 19 provinces from Meteorology: Heavy downpours and storms are coming

According to the latest assessments by the General Directorate of Meteorology: The country is expected to be partly to very cloudy, with rain and thunderstorms forecast for the eastern part of the Marmara region, the interior Aegean, the Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, the Black Sea, and Eastern Anatolia, as well as the surroundings of İzmir, Adıyaman, Gaziantep, and Kilis. Precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in the eastern Marmara, the Taurus Mountains area of the Eastern Mediterranean, the northwest of Central Anatolia, the Western Black Sea, the coasts of the Eastern Black Sea, the surroundings of Osmaniye and Samsun, and the coasts of Hatay.

Air temperatures are expected to decrease noticeably across the country, remaining below seasonal norms in the interior and western parts, and around seasonal norms in the eastern regions.

The wind is expected to blow from the north in general, and from the south and east in the southern and eastern parts, light to occasionally moderate, and strong (40-60 km/h) in the Marmara, Aegean, Eastern, and Southeastern Anatolia regions.

YELLOW ALERT FOR 19 PROVINCES

The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a yellow alert for 19 provinces due to the rain and thunderstorms expected to affect a large part of Turkey. Among the provinces under the alert are Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa, and Kocaeli.

The provinces under the yellow alert are Ankara, Bilecik, Bolu, Bursa, Çankırı, Eskişehir, Istanbul, Kastamonu, Kocaeli, Konya, Kütahya, Sakarya, Sinop, Zonguldak, Kırıkkale, Bartın, Yalova, Karabük, and Düzce.

MARMARA

Partly to very cloudy, with intermittent rain and thunderstorms expected in the east of the region. Precipitation is expected to be heavy in the east. The wind is expected to blow strongly (40-60 km/h) from the north and northeast.
