YENİ Party Spokesperson Emre: We can close the matter by making a small adjustment to the beginning of the YENİ Party name

The YENİ Party Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chairman Özgür Özel. YENİ Party Spokesperson Zeynel Emre made statements regarding the MYK agenda at the party headquarters. Emre announced that following objections to the name YENİ Party, the issue would be resolved by making a correction to the front of the name.

Stating that private losses should not be recovered with public resources, Emre said, "As the YENİ Party, the Economic Coordination Council met. It prepared a legislative proposal. This week, this legislative proposal will be submitted to Parliament by Ümit Özlale, the Deputy for İzmir."

Addressing the remarks of former Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç regarding President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's candidacy again, Emre said, "Tunç says, 'An election will be held in 2028 to re-elect our President.' Now, first of all, according to our Constitution, Erdoğan's term of office has ended. He has more than fulfilled this for two terms. For a president whose term has expired to be a candidate once more, a decision for early elections must be taken by Parliament in the final period of his term. For this, the number required by the Constitution is 360," he said.

Responding to questions from members of the press, Emre stated that there were objections to the name of the YENİ Party and noted the following:

"In the face of these objections, there are claims of confusion, meaning that the names of the two parties are being mixed up. A ruling in this direction is very, very exceptional. When looked at, no one confuses the two emblems when they see them at the ballot box; this is clear. We can close the matter by making a small adjustment to the beginning of the YENİ Party name. But we founded the YENİ Party with the desire and will of the nation. They also loved the name. Currently, our Founders' Board is authorized on this matter. Since the grand congress has not yet been convened, there has been no assessment, contact, or request to the contrary in the Founders' Board so far. The Yenilik Party could withdraw its application. The Constitutional Court could decide quickly on the application here and rule that 'there is no confusion.' If a thought arises that there is confusion, as I said, we can quickly adjust it."
