Yeniden Refah Party responds to MHP's Yalçın over 'terrorism' remarks: 'It has rejected it without deviating a millimeter'

In a statement addressed to Semih Yalçın on his social media account, Kılıç said, "Instead of understanding the call made by Yeniden Refah Party Chairman Fatih Erbakan to MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, you have tried to interpret it in a way other than what was intended."

Kılıç noted the following in the continuation of his statement:

"First of all, you should know that, contrary to the perception you are trying to create, the Yeniden Refah Party is in favor of a Terror-Free Turkey. Moreover, this is not because of the well-known one-year process; its will has been in this direction and clear since the very first day the scourge of terrorism became a plague on our nation and our country. Even in the years when many others' political capital was the fight against terrorism, the Milli Görüş (National View) rejected terrorism without deviating a millimeter, mobilized all resources to eliminate the causes of terrorism, and strove for a solution based on brotherhood, not race. Today, our desire is to liquidate the terrorist organization with all its branches, to finish off the PYD/YPG along with the PKK, and to completely purge the bloody hand, dirty language, and rusty past of terrorism from our politics and our country. While doing this, we aim not to incite terrorism, not to spoil its political extensions, and not to consent to separatist slogans chanted under the roof of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). In fact, the call made to Mr. Devlet Bahçeli is in this vein. As suggested at the beginning of the process, it is neither reasonable nor appropriate for the terrorist leader to come to the Parliament. Regarding a delegation from the Parliament going to the feet of the terrorist organization's ringleader, there is an observation of indecision and uncertainty.

"HIS CALL IS CLEAR ENOUGH TO LEAVE NO ROOM FOR INTERPRETATION"

Our Chairman's call on this point is: 'If that is the case, it is essential for Mr. Bahçeli, who initiated the process, to have the final say.'

It is clear and explicit enough to leave no room for interpretation. If you are satisfied with the process you have started, the direction it is heading, and the distance covered, and if you are not in any hesitation or anxiety because of the process, I would like you to know that there is no issue that should require you to take offense.

Meanwhile, you have referred to our party as a 'small party.' I would like you to know that we are truly saddened by this. I hope that, as in the past, you will not feel the need for those you belittle in the future. Furthermore, the Yeniden Refah Party, which you call a 'small party,' became Turkey's third 'largest' party in the March 31, 2024 local elections.

In addition, the Yeniden Refah Party, which you belittle, is also Turkey's third 'largest' party in the ranking of approved member numbers in the Court of Cassation system. I hope that you will not spare your vocabulary, which you did not spare to reject a reasonable and sincere statement, from those who chanted and had others chant slogans about the terrorist organization's ringleader under the roof of the Supreme Parliament very recently. You abandoned courtesy for the sake of a response.

We will not violate the boundaries of courtesy. Because we always have respect for the distinguished presence of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), which you represent, in our political life for more than half a century, and for its patriotic and nation-loving community, which we value highly."
