Murat Daban, the Yeniden Refah Party mayor of Selendi, Manisa, has resigned from his party.
Murat Daban, who was elected mayor of the Selendi district of Manisa on the Yeniden Refah Party ticket in the March 31 Local Administration General Elections, has decided to resign from his party.
Making a written statement via his social media account, Daban announced his decision by saying, "I hope this will be for the best," with the following words:
"It has become necessary to carry out our services and work on the most appropriate platform for our people, who have embraced us and shown us their love until today. In order to carry the sacred trust of you, our esteemed fellow citizens, and to focus on better services in our Selendi, we have decided, with the common opinion of my colleagues, not to continue my duty as Mayor of Selendi with the Yeniden Refah Party. The decision we have taken has been thought through to the finest detail and supported by the views of our people. I would like to thank our fellow citizens who have supported us and shown great favor in this matter, and I hope it will be for the best."
