Yeniden Refah Party's assessment on police murder: 'Sharia provisions should be evaluated'
Conservative circles have linked the killing of 27-year-old police officer Şeyda Yılmaz by 19-year-old Yunus Emre Geçit, who had 26 prior criminal records, in Istanbul's Ümraniye district to secularism.
Yeniden Refah Party Deputy Chairman Mehmet Altınöz linked the killing of police officer Şeyda Yılmaz by Yunus Emre Geçit to secularism.
Altınöz stated, "The implementation of Sharia provisions should be evaluated."

"KEMALIST REGIME PRODUCES CRIME MACHINES"
The first statement on the matter came from the Yeni Akit newspaper.
In the report shared under the headline "The Kemalist regime produces crime machines!", a call for Sharia was made with the words, "As long as justice is not established through Islamic law, the social order where the nation is the sheep and the criminal is the butcher will continue."
Yeniden Refah Party Deputy Chairman Mehmet Altınöz opened the topic of Sharia for discussion during a live broadcast on KRT, using the murder of the police officer as a starting point.
"SHARIA PROVISIONS SHOULD BE EVALUATED"
Stating that secularism is misunderstood in Turkey, Altınöz said, "Secularism means the freedom to live your faith in society. There is an absurd definition that religion and state affairs should be separated. This is one of the nonsensical fabrications of Zionism. The implementation of Sharia provisions should also be evaluated."
