Yıldız Technical University rectorate launches investigation into students: Reason is boycott call

An investigation has been launched into students who called for an academic boycott following the detention of İmamoğlu.

According to a report by Halktv, an email sent by the Rectorate to at least 10 students alleged that the slogans chanted during the march constituted "insulting state officials" and an "attempt to disrupt public order."

Ezgi Tatlı, who took the stage in Saraçhane to call for a "general strike, general resistance," was also included in the investigation.

In the Rectorate's communication, boycott calls carried out at the university were also included under the scope of the offense. Along with the phrases "There is a boycott in this classroom" written on boards and walls in the faculties, students not attending classes and spending time in parks, gardens, and cafeterias, as well as preparing banners for the protest, were also presented as evidence.
