Yılmaz Özdil's take on early elections: Mümtazer Türköne should not be showing his face in public

As the political agenda in Turkey continues to be dominated by discussions of an 'early election,' journalist Yılmaz Özdil has made a striking statement.

Özdil claimed that the possibility of an early election has been eliminated following the statement from the MHP front.

Evaluating Turkey's agenda on the Kırmızı Beyaz program hosted by İpek Özbey on SÖZCÜ TV, Yılmaz Özdil commented on Mümtazer Türköne's remarks and Bahçeli's response.

Özdil stated the following:

"Someone like Mümtazer Türköne should not be showing his face in public. He went to prison for his FETÖ disgraces. He has an ultranationalist side; at one point his wife was an AKP deputy, while he himself was a FETÖ member. They come out and occupy the public's time as if they were authorities. There are some blockheaded friends on opposition channels. They call him Bahçeli's advisor. Can they put one of Bahçeli's men in prison in Turkey?"

"For two days, everyone is asking, 'Will there be an early election?' My friend, the possibility of an early election in Turkey has been off the table since the CHP convention was held. Everyone says, 'Polls are being published. AKP votes have dropped, MHP votes have dropped.' Yes, but right now, Bahçeli and our leader of the century likely have the lowest vote shares in their political history, yet they are experiencing the most powerful period of their rule."

'AKP'S MOST POWERFUL PERIOD'

"If we don't see this, we cannot reach the right conclusion. If we were in Sweden or somewhere, we might be surprised. The man threw Turkey's presidential candidate into prison just like that. Can anyone object? Is there law? Is there police? There is nothing! How much more powerful can you get? They imprisoned İmamoğlu, the person who received the highest number of votes in terms of mayors in Turkey, the person who won Istanbul 3 times, even after the entire cabinet came to Istanbul to win. I think the AKP has fallen well below 34 percent. Their vote shares are very low, but they are experiencing the most powerful and most comfortable period of their rule."
