Yılmaz Tunç speaks on the Constitutional Court crisis
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç stated that there is no ongoing study regarding the Constitutional Court's individual application practice, which has caused controversy.
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç met with judges and prosecutors at the Ankara Courthouse Conference Hall today. The judges and prosecutors, who took the floor one by one, expressed their demands regarding their personal rights.
Minister Tunç noted these down one by one and said he would look into them. Tunç also reminded that a tender has been held for the construction of the new Ankara Courthouse building.
According to the report by Alican Uludağ from DW Türkçe, Tunç responded to the question, "It was said that there would be a change in the Constitutional Court's retrial authority following the Can Atalay crisis. Is there any work on this in your ministry?" as he was leaving the meeting.
“THERE ARE DIFFERENT IDEAS BUT…”
Stating that changing the structure of the Constitutional Court and addressing the retrial authority are different issues, Tunç said, "There are different ideas regarding the Constitutional Court's retrial authority. However, there is no study on this matter yet."
