Young man who said he would commit suicide due to debts has been missing for 17 hours
A young man who disappeared in the Köse district of Gümüşhane after telling his relatives he would commit suicide by entering a pond due to his debts has been missing for 17 hours.
The incident occurred around 23:00 last night at the Akbaba Village pond in the Köse district of Gümüşhane. According to the information obtained, 25-year-old Mehmet Ali Taral, who was learned to have debts and had called his girlfriend and brother to say he would commit suicide, arrived at the edge of the Akbaba Village pond with his tractor during the night. His relatives, who could not reach the young man for a long time after he left his mobile phone inside the tractor and disappeared, reported the situation to the 112 emergency call center.

Upon the report, 112 emergency health, gendarmerie, AFAD, and Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK) teams were dispatched to the scene. While no findings were encountered during the searches that continued throughout the night, the search efforts were accelerated starting from the morning hours. While JAK teams are conducting searches on the water surface and underwater, no trace of Mehmet Ali Taral has been found yet.

On the other hand, the fact that tracking dogs, which sniffed Taral's clothes, intensified their search in the Kelkit-Köse highway area located in the opposite direction of the pond caused the teams to expand their efforts to this area as well.

Gümüşhane Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Senior Colonel Serhat Demiral, Köse District Governor Hakan Öznay, and Köse Mayor Turgay Kesler also closely followed the search efforts.
