YRP's Ömer Faruk Ak denies Sabah newspaper report: I did not join the AKP

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the names of individuals joining the party and pinned badges on them following his speech at the AKP's 23rd anniversary program. 

Sabah newspaper claimed yesterday that Ömer Faruk Ak, Deputy Chairman of the Youth Branches of the New Welfare Party, was among those who transferred to the AKP. Ak issued a statement regarding the matter and denied the claim in question.

In a statement published on his social media account, Ak used the following expressions:

“In the news report titled 'New names for the AK Party' published by Sabah Newspaper, a report was made stating that I had resigned from the New Welfare Party and joined the AK Party, using my photograph without my knowledge. I have no information regarding the subject, and I also believe that the post in question was due to a similarity in names. As a member of the New Welfare Party who has grown up within the National View (Milli Görüş) movement and considers it an honor to serve this community, I reiterate my loyalty to my Chairman Dr. Fatih Erbakan on the occasion of this fake news report and state that I will work with greater determination for the greatest victories of our New Welfare Party.”
