YRP takes action following Hakan Fidan's KAAN statement: 'Who are you complaining to whom?'
The New Welfare Party (YRP) has submitted a written parliamentary question regarding the matter after Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan's statement—that production of the domestic combat aircraft KAAN has been halted because the engine license was not approved by the US Congress—raised numerous questions in the public eye.
YRP Konya Deputy Ali Yüksel, in the parliamentary question he prepared for Minister Fidan to answer, asked, "Does our domestic and national combat aircraft KAAN actually exist or not?"
The parliamentary question from YRP's Yüksel is as follows:
Is the KAAN's engine domestically produced or not?
Has a domestic and national engine been produced for KAAN? Has it not been produced? If it has been produced, why is an engine still being awaited from the US?
If it has not been produced, how was a sale to Indonesia made possible? 5- How many aircraft are involved in the scope of the sales protocol signed with Indonesia? Is it 40 or 50?
What is the purpose of this statement made only 1.5 days after the 2.5-hour meeting held at the White House? Who are you complaining to whom?
If a US-origin engine embargo was not brought to the agenda for KAAN, what topics were discussed during the 2.5-hour meeting with Mr. Trump?
Finally, will our domestic and national combat aircraft KAAN, which is our pride and dream, be shelved or not?
