Zafer Keleş, detained in corruption investigation targeting IMM, arrested
Zafer Keleş, the brother of Fatih Keleş who was arrested in the corruption investigation targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), has also been arrested.
The corruption investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into individuals including Ekrem İmamoğlu—who was removed from his post as IMM Mayor following his arrest—on charges of "managing a criminal organization," "membership in a criminal organization," "extortion," "bribery," "qualified fraud," "unlawful acquisition of personal data," and "rigging tenders" continues.
Within the scope of the investigation, the police procedures for Zafer Keleş, who was detained on allegations of delivering money belonging to the organization to addresses requested by him under the instructions of suspects in the file, have been completed.
After undergoing a health check, the suspect was taken to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan.
Following his statement at the public prosecutor's office, Zafer Keleş was referred to the Istanbul Criminal Court of Peace with a request for his arrest.
Zafer Keleş, who was re-questioned by the court, was ordered to be arrested.
