Karamahmutoğlu evaluated the arrest warrant for Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ and his subsequent statement, made through his lawyer, that 'my only concern is being assassinated.'

Zafer Party spokesperson Azmi Karamahmutoğlu responded to a question on a television program he attended on Halktv regarding the purpose behind Özdağ's statement:

He has received such threats from time to time, and for this reason, security measures were being increased.
