Zafer Party Chairman Özdağ emphasizes the 'internal front': Law must be applied equally
Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ made statements after traveling to Ankara following his release from the Marmara Prison in Silivri and meeting with party members.
In his statement to journalists in front of the party headquarters, Özdağ drew attention to the tension in the region and pointed to the importance of ensuring unity and solidarity on the internal front.
Zafer Party Chairman Özdağ used the following expressions:
We have experienced and continue to see how the opposition can be suppressed through enemy criminal law practices, despite there being no crime at all.
However, what Turkey needs, while the region is so chaotic and fragmentation is expected in the geographies around us at any moment, is for the internal front to be strong and for national unity to be strong.
This can only be achieved by applying the law equally to everyone. If you apply one type of justice to those close to the government and another to those in the opposition, the integrity of the internal front cannot be maintained, and Turkey's load-bearing columns will remain under severe threat.
I believe that mistakes must be corrected, and I will share my thoughts with the public in the coming days. We will convey how we will move away from the enemy law practices we are currently in through meetings to be held by our party.
