Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ reveals: Gang members are mobbing young people brought to Silivri

Özdağ shared a sketch of the area where he is being held in a post on his social media account. In his statement, Özdağ noted the following: 

"Today, I used the 20-square-meter courtyard of my cell for something other than exercise. The sun was hitting one of the opposite corners.

I placed my chair in that corner and put a small stool next to me.

I brewed my tea, took some biscuits, and picked up Nazan Bekiroğlu's novel 'The Pomegranate Tree' (Nar Ağacı), and while the sun warmed my head and body, I went for a walk through the streets of 1912 Trabzon.

“IT IS NOT POSSIBLE”

Today is March 31, 2025, my 72nd day in a cell in Silivri. It is not possible for me to flee or tamper with evidence. Even if I were to receive the maximum sentence of 3 years, I should be out of prison. My only wish is for the indictment, which I hear is being prepared, to be approved by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and sent to the court so that I can be tried.

“GANG MEMBERS ARE SUBJECTING YOUNG PEOPLE BROUGHT TO SILIVRI TO SEVERE MOBBING INSIDE”

A lawyer who came to visit me at the prison this morning told me.

Gang members inside are subjecting the young people who were arrested in the recent events and brought to Silivri to severe mobbing.

Besides pressures such as 'Your lives are over now, your only chance when you get out is to join us,' they beat a young person who was holding a pastry distributed for breakfast over the steam of a teapot to warm it up, saying, 'You cannot warm it up without our permission.' The young person was saved by calling the prison guards."
