Zafer Party Leader Özdağ sets 'Atatürk' condition for CHP: 'Get up from that table'

Ümit Özdağ did not close the door on a possible cooperation with the CHP, but set a striking condition with the words, "Mustafa Kemal did not sit at the table with Sheikh Said and Seyit Rıza; the CHP should not sit with the representatives of Abdullah Öcalan either."

Zafer Party Leader Özdağ sets 'Atatürk' condition for CHP: 'Get up from that table'

Zafer Party Chairman Prof. Dr. Ümit Özdağ made important statements regarding the agenda during his visits in the İnegöl district of Bursa.

Responding to journalists' question, "Will you act together with the CHP in a possible election?", Özdağ brought a new dimension to alliance discussions based on "principles".

"They Can Easily Violate the Constitution"

Starting his speech with the by-election debates, Özdağ reminded that by-elections are a Constitutional necessity. Claiming that the current government does not recognize the decisions of the Constitutional Court, Özdağ stated, "The government can easily violate the Constitution. Despite this, we will continue our struggle in the public eye for the fulfillment of a Constitutional provision."

"Those Who Say They Are the Party of Atatürk Cannot Sit at That Table"

Touching upon the issue of cooperation with the CHP, Özdağ emphasized that they are not pursuing a classic "alliance" with any political party, but rather advocating for a union centered on "the founding principles of the Republic and Atatürk." Özdağ called on the CHP leadership with the following words:

"There are conditions that must be met to unite with Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. It is not possible to unite with Atatürk while sitting at that table. Mustafa Kemal did not sit at the table with Sheikh Said or Seyit Rıza. If the CHP says 'I am the party of Atatürk,' it must not sit at the table with the representatives of Abdullah Öcalan. Our call is clear: The CHP must get up from that table."
