Zafer Party Spokesperson Karamahmutoğlu: 'Özgür Özel has entered into a religious marriage with the AK Party'

Azmi Karamahmutoğlu made the following statements in his press release:

In the Eyüpsultan district of Istanbul, our high school principal lost his life as a result of an armed attack he was subjected to at the school where he worked, carried out by a refugee. Another refugee murder took place in Afyonkarahisar. A Syrian national shepherd killed the farmer he worked for by cutting his throat for the purpose of robbery.

Refugee murders are happening all over the country. The reason why refugee murders are so widespread can be explained by the high number of refugees and their presence in every part of the country.

No matter where you are in the country, a refugee murder can find you and take your life. Because the number of refugees in our country is high enough to find you anywhere. Because they arrived without being screened, selected, and through uncontrolled and illegal routes, the crime rate among refugees is high.

While the Zafer Party draws attention to the illegal and refugee problem, can those who accuse us of pursuing a single-issue policy now realize that while we were talking about the refugee problem, we were also talking about the country's public order and security problem?

We have a main opposition leader who tells municipalities to only focus on water activities where people's blood is being shed; Özgür Özel...

Since the day he was elected chairman of the CHP, he has been traveling from party to party, beaming with smiles and joy, as if he were not elected chairman of the CHP but rather the leader of the Kakava Festivals.

He displays mutual softening policies with leaders. While acting so softly toward leaders, he can apply chairman-level mobbing against his own municipalities that take the necessary measures regarding refugee policy, for example, against the CHP Mayor of Afyonkarahisar, Burcu Köksal.

However, if he had visited the grieving family of farmer Mehmet Akşit, who was killed by a refugee shepherd in the same city, and shared their pain, he would have displayed a more humane attitude. Instead of doing this, he prefers to harden his stance against the Mayor of Afyonkarahisar, who is trying to take measures to prevent these incidents.

"CONTAINS TWO ERRORS"

The work that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel suggested to the municipalities is, in his own words, "Instead of dealing with these oppressed Syrians, deal with the citizens' water problem." It contains two errors. One of them is limiting the refugees in our country only to those coming from Syria. Özgür Özel's effort to limit it only to Syrians must be a habit he acquired especially after his meeting with the head of the government, as he still continues the integrationist policy he has adopted from the beginning.

The second error is; limiting the scope of municipal activity only to water. Yet, what was flowing in Afyon was not water, but the blood of a Turkish citizen due to a refugee murder. He could have carried out a policy on this, he could have established a discourse, but he did not. Özgür Özel has a lot to learn from Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan.

He can also learn from Zafer Party Chairman Prof. Dr. Ümit Özdağ about the fact that refugees are not limited to those coming from Syria and what the refugee problem is. Mr. Özel may not want to understand, but yes, of course, reducing the number of illegal immigrants and refugees in a city is possible through municipal efforts. This has been achieved in Bolu. By staying completely within the framework of the law, the number of refugees in the city has been minimized. We thank Tanju Özcan for doing this.

"HE HAS EVEN ENTERED INTO A RELIGIOUS MARRIAGE"

But it seems that the new Chairman of the Republican People's Party, who has abandoned both the Republic and the people, is at a marriage table with the AKP government. Özgür Özel, who commented on Arabic signs as the "language of the Quran," has apparently even entered into a religious marriage with the AKP...

We could see and knew that he had abandoned the principle of Nationalism, which is one of the six arrows in the CHP symbol, because he said so without hesitation. Now, with his blessing of Arabic signs and his sanctification of Arabic as the language of the Quran, we understand that Özgür Özel has also abandoned the principles of Atatürkism and Reformism.

Mr. Özgür Özel; neither radicalism nor populism has a place in the Zafer Party's way of doing politics. Neither can enter through the door of the Zafer Party. You accused the Zafer Party of populism. You are the one who, by emulating the European left, is doing politics like a leader dancing in the pit of left-wing pragmatism, deviating from Atatürk's principles in order to be part of the majority. Please do not use insulting language when talking about Turkish nationalists; those who sow the wind reap the whirlwind.
