Zoning scandal from CHP Central Executive Board: 3 individuals referred to disciplinary committee

The CHP Central Executive Board (MYK) met yesterday at the party headquarters under the chairmanship of Chairman Özgür Özel. According to information obtained, the meeting addressed the controversies surrounding the hotel construction project belonging to SİNPAŞ GYO in the Kızılbük Bay of the Marmaris district of Muğla.

The preliminary investigation report prepared by a four-person committee established under the instruction of Chairman Özel was also evaluated during the meeting.

In this context, former Marmaris Mayor Mehmet Oktay and Deputy Mayors Burak Demirtaş and İhsan Öztürk, who were found to be responsible for the licensing procedures that violated zoning regulations and rules regarding the construction, were referred to the High Disciplinary Board (YDK) with a request for permanent expulsion.

33 PERMITS TWO DAYS BEFORE THE ELECTIONS

It was also learned that Oktay, who was not nominated as a mayoral candidate in the local elections, had issued 33 new permits contrary to zoning regulations that paved the way for the expansion of the project just two days before the local elections.

Party sources stated that detailed investigations into the matter will continue and that necessary steps will be taken decisively based on the information that emerges.

The Marmaris Municipality had recently cancelled the building permits for the hotel project and sealed the construction site following court rulings.
