12.75 billion euro deal between UAE and Greece: 15 billion euro investment plan announced

A total of 18 memoranda of understanding, agreements, and commercial partnerships worth 12.75 billion euros were signed between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Greece as part of the visit of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

It was reported that the agreements signed between the two countries within the framework of a business forum reached approximately 13 billion euros, or 14 billion dollars. The package is considered a new step toward expanding economic relations between Athens and Abu Dhabi.

It was stated that the agreements cover areas such as digital infrastructure, advanced technologies, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, industry, logistics, transportation and ports, health and biomedical sciences, and food security.

The Abu Dhabi Media Office also announced in a statement the UAE's new investment plan for the Greek economy. Accordingly, in addition to the 4 billion euro joint investment mechanism launched in May 2022, the UAE aims to invest an additional 15 billion euros in Greece.

The new investment plan is expected to diversify trade and strategic cooperation topics between the two countries. The prominence of sectors such as energy, technology, and logistics in the agreement package indicates that the cooperation covers not only financing but also production and infrastructure areas.
