17 million retirees have their eyes on the holiday bonus... Here are the figures being discussed

With the approach of the Ramadan Feast, the eyes of approximately 17 million retirees across Turkey have turned to a potential regulation regarding an increase in the holiday bonus. Last year, a total of 8 thousand liras was paid for the two holidays; this year, a new figure may come to the agenda in line with economic conditions.

The bonuses of 4 thousand liras each, which were given separately for both holidays last year, reached a total of 8 thousand liras. In the new period, both the rate of increase and the bonus payment schedule are a matter of curiosity. Following the passage of the legal regulation through Parliament, it is planned that the updated amount will be deposited into the accounts of retirees before the Ramadan Feast.

According to experts, citizens receiving old-age, widow, orphan, and disability pensions will also benefit from this bonus; however, each group will receive their share within the framework of current legislation. Retirees also emphasize the importance of moving the payment date to before the Ramadan Feast.

On the other hand, it has been reported that the final decision regarding the new bonus amount will be taken as a result of the Presidential Cabinet meeting. The Cabinet is expected to determine the rate of increase by evaluating various economic indicators such as the public budget and inflation rates.

Once the regulation takes its place on the parliamentary calendar, it needs to come into effect at least a few days before the holiday for the legal process to be completed. Thus, approximately 17 million citizens will be able to benefit from their bonuses on time.
