A new increase in diesel prices is expected as of the first day of September. With a 3 TL reflection calculated for the Special Consumption Tax (SCT) and 60 kuruş for the Value Added Tax (VAT), the total hike per liter is projected to be 3.60 TL.

With the expected increase reflected at the pump, the liter price of diesel is estimated to rise to 81.08 TL in Istanbul. The price is expected to rise to 82.20 TL in Ankara and 82.47 TL in Izmir. It is stated that the price per liter could reach up to 83.93 TL in eastern provinces.

The 3.60 TL increase per liter represents a significant cost not only for individual vehicle owners but also for heavy vehicles engaged in transportation. A car with a fuel tank of approximately 50 liters will face an additional burden of at least 180 TL in the cost of a full tank.

For heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses, the picture reaches higher figures. In vehicles with tank capacities reaching up to 1,500 liters, the cost difference for a single fill-up is expected to rise to as much as 5,400 TL with the same hike rate.

It is assessed that the increases in fuel prices could affect costs in many areas, from logistics to public transportation, not just vehicle owners.
