3 price hikes for kitchen gas in 18 days, 100% hike for bottled water! Citizens surrendered to inflation...

In the new year, before citizens even received their increased salaries, they were faced with price hikes on every item from A to Z.

According to data from the Beverage Producers Association (İÇDAŞ), the price of a 19-liter bottle of water, which was 45 TL in January 2023, has risen to 90 TL with the latest hikes.

100% HIKE ON WATER

Bülent Deniz, President of the Turkish Consumer Confederation (TÜKODER), said, “Bottled water prices have increased by nearly 100% in the last year. These hikes are leaving consumers in a difficult situation. The hikes need to be rolled back so that consumers can meet their basic needs.”

SMALL GAS CYLINDER IS 140 TL, LARGE CYLINDER IS 630 TL

Gas cylinders have been hiked for the third time since January 1st.

First, a Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) hike was implemented. The price of a 12-kilogram kitchen gas cylinder rose by 25 TL to 580 TL. The small cylinder also increased by 6 TL to 135 TL. Then, another hike followed.

The price of a 12-kilogram kitchen gas cylinder rose from 580 TL to 630 TL, and the small cylinder rose to 140 TL. Meanwhile, an average hike of 40 kuruş per liter of LPG has been implemented, effective as of yesterday.
