30 percent increase in free public transport support

Changes have been made to the support payments for public transport operators who carry citizens entitled to free travel, such as the elderly, relatives of martyrs, and veterans. The new regulation, which entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette, significantly increased the income support provided to the operators who provide this transport service.

SUPPORT AMOUNT INCREASED IN METROPOLITAN CITIES

Within the scope of the regulation, it was decided to provide higher financial support to operators of urban public transport vehicles. The highest increase was applied to operators of public transport vehicles serving in metropolitan cities such as Istanbul and Ankara. In these cities, the monthly support amount per vehicle was increased from 6,210 TL to 8,073 TL.

NEW FIGURES FOR OTHER METROPOLITAN CITIES AND SMALLER PROVINCES

For public transport vehicles operating in other metropolitan cities, the monthly support amount paid was increased from 4,658 TL to 6,055 TL. The payment made to public transport vehicles in provinces without metropolitan status was increased from 3,726 TL to 4,844 TL.

PRIVATE MARITIME TRANSPORT ALSO INCLUDED

Furthermore, with the new regulation change, the scope of support for private maritime vehicles providing urban public transport services was also expanded. In this context, the monthly support provided to private maritime vehicles was increased from 4,658 TL to 6,055 TL.
