5 million 225 thousand lira in traffic fines for drivers in Bilecik

Intensive traffic inspections have been launched in Bilecik and its districts to prevent traffic rule violations and related accidents. In this context, aerial inspections were carried out with drones at specific points in the province targeting vehicles violating lane and red light rules, and traffic fines were issued to those violating the rules. Emphasis was placed on motorcycle inspections, with intensive checks conducted on motorcycles operating without registration, license plates, with modified exhausts, without insurance, without a driver's license, or without helmets. Within the scope of the inspections, motorcycle riders who did not follow the rules were checked one by one. Furthermore, inspections were increased for trucks and tractor-trailers that cause traffic congestion by entering the city center outside of designated hours, as well as for vehicles committing parking, red light, and speeding violations.

As a result of the inspections, 10 thousand 778 vehicles and their drivers were checked by the Bilecik Provincial Police Department traffic officers, and fines were issued for 4 thousand 382 speeding violations, 9 instances of non-compliant lighting equipment, 12 instances of overtaking in prohibited areas, 47 instances of failure to use seat belts, 39 instances of failure to wear helmets, 61 instances of driving an uninspected vehicle, 26 instances of failure to use a tachograph, 304 instances of illegal parking, 508 red light violations, and 132 instances of trucks and tractor-trailers entering the city center during prohibited hours in violation of traffic signs and signals.

In addition, a total of 5 million 225 thousand 273 TL in administrative traffic fines were issued to 5 thousand 837 vehicle owners and drivers for these and other violations, and 108 vehicles were banned from traffic.
