54th World Economic Forum concludes
The 54th World Economic Forum (WEF), held in the Swiss town of Davos, has concluded following its fifth day of sessions. The main theme of this year's summit was "Rebuilding Trust."
Switzerland's Davos town hosted the 54th World Economic Forum, which concluded after its fifth day of sessions.
The World Economic Forum (WEF) took place this year under the theme "Rebuilding Trust." The summit, attended by prominent leaders from politics and the business world, saw participation from over 2,800 business people, politicians, academics, and civil society representatives from 120 countries. More than 300 sessions were held in total.
The summit addressed various topics including global security issues, employment, the climate and nature emergency, artificial intelligence applications, global trade, economic growth, energy transition, technological development and disruption, and digitalization. The meetings emphasized that international cooperation is of critical importance for generating rapid solutions.
From Turkey, prominent figures from the business world, such as Koç Holding CEO Levent Çakıroğlu and Sabancı Holding CEO Cenk Alper, also attended the summit.
WEF President Borge Brende, in his closing speech, stated that the summit took place during a critical period for the world, noting that ongoing geopolitical crises are affecting the entire world and companies. Expressing that trust in international companies and institutions has diminished, Brende emphasized the importance of rebuilding trust for this reason. Brende also noted that participants showed special interest in technology and artificial intelligence topics and demanded balanced regulation.
