8.01 percent increase in number of foreign visitors in April

According to data released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Turkey hosted a total of 12 million 744 thousand 84 visitors in the first four months of 2025. In this period, the number of visitors arriving in the country in April was recorded as 3 million 900 thousand 564.

While 10 million 654 thousand 94 people visited Turkey in the first four months of last year, this figure decreased to 10 million 590 thousand in the same period this year. Despite an 8.1 percent increase on a monthly basis, there was a slight decrease of 0.60 percent in the four-month total.

COUNTRIES SENDING THE MOST VISITORS

In the first four months of the year, 10 million 590 thousand 9 of the visitors arriving in Turkey were foreign tourists, while 2 million 154 thousand 75 were Turkish citizens residing abroad.

Germany became the country sending the most tourists to Turkey with 1 million 143 thousand 107 visitors. Germany was followed by the Russian Federation with 977 thousand 152 visitors and Iran with 946 thousand 472 visitors. Bulgaria and the United Kingdom were also among the other countries sending the most visitors.

GERMANY'S INCREASE IN APRIL

The number of foreign tourists visiting Turkey in April increased by 8.01 percent compared to the same month last year, reaching 3 million 900 thousand 546. In this period, the number of visitors from Germany increased by 31.32 percent to 571 thousand 42.

While the Russian Federation ranked second with 375 thousand 820 visitors, the United Kingdom ranked third with 373 thousand 922 visitors and recorded an increase of 13.27 percent.
