According to TurkStat, the economy grew by 3.7 percent in the third quarter
The Turkish economy recorded a growth of 3.7 percent in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year. While the construction and finance sectors led the growth, the agricultural sector declined.
According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 3.7 percent in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year. Seasonally and calendar-adjusted GDP rose by 1.1 percent compared to the previous quarter.
GROWTH IN CONSTRUCTION AND FINANCE SECTORS
When economic activities are examined, the construction sector showed the highest growth at 13.9 percent. Financial and insurance activities recorded an increase of 10.8 percent, while information and communication activities grew by 10.1 percent. In contrast, the agricultural sector drew attention by declining by 12.7 percent.
GDP calculated by the production method increased by 41.6 percent at current prices, reaching 17 trillion 424 billion 718 million TL. In the same period, the dollar-denominated value of GDP was 432 billion 880 million dollars.
IMPACT OF HOUSEHOLD CONSUMPTION AND INVESTMENTS
Final consumption expenditures of resident households increased by 4.8 percent, and gross fixed capital formation increased by 11.7 percent. While government final consumption expenditures rose by 0.8 percent, exports of goods and services decreased by 0.7 percent, and imports increased by 4.3 percent.
CHANGES IN ECONOMIC INDICATORS
Labor payments showed an increase of 41.1 percent compared to the same quarter of last year, while net operating surplus/mixed income rose by 43.5 percent. The share of labor payments in Gross Value Added was recorded at 35.0 percent, and the share of net operating surplus/mixed income was 46.7 percent. These data reveal the performance and sectoral dynamics of the Turkish economy in the third quarter.
