Affecting millions of workers: AKP's Akbaşoğlu announces the date for the minimum wage announcement!

The Minimum Wage Determination Commission held two meetings on December 11 and December 18. Although the commission is expected to hold four meetings, the date for the third meeting has not yet been announced, despite there being only one week left until the end of the year.

While no figure emerged from the first two meetings, millions of workers are eagerly waiting to see when the new minimum wage will be announced.

AKBAŞOĞLU GIVES A DATE FOR THE MINIMUM WAGE

Regarding the issue, AKP Group Deputy Chairman Muhammet Emin Akbaşoğlu made statements during a program he attended on Kanal 7.

Akbaşoğlu stated that the third meeting on the minimum wage will be held next week and that the wage will be announced on Friday.

Akbaşoğlu said the following;

"Two meetings have been held on the minimum wage. In the previous period, due to the pandemic, the minimum wage was determined twice. In this process, it will be determined annually. The 3rd meeting will be held next week. Worker and employer unions have important missions in determining the minimum wage. Here, our ministry acts like an arbitrator. I think it will be announced on Friday. We have never allowed the minimum wage earner to be crushed by inflation, and we will not. We also have to support our employers. We are currently providing a 500 TL premium support."

50 PERCENT RAISE FOR CIVIL SERVANTS AND CIVIL SERVANT RETIREES

Stating that the final inflation figure of the year will be announced on January 3, Emin Akbaşoğlu used the expressions, "There is a difference regarding civil servants and civil servant retirees due to collective bargaining agreements. I estimate that a raise of nearly 50 percent will be given to civil servants and civil servant retirees."
